New protoplanet(s?) alert! I'm happy to share this LBTI image of WISPIT 2 from our team's paper led by Laird Close. Planet b was discovered at Hα with MagAO-X following the SPHERE disk discovery (R. van Capelleveen +), and CC1 might be a candidate 2nd (enshrouded?) protoplanet #exoplanets ☄️🔭🧪

We also fit atmospheric models to photometry of HII 1348B and infer the possible formation channels and dynamical interactions for this triple system.

There are very few known substellar companions in the Pleiades, and we use the very strong detection of HII 1348B (SNR > 150) to perform precise relative astronomy and provide the first model of the companion's orbit.
