these past couple of weeks have felt almost as disorienting as the period of (prolonged) drought that preceded it... will happily take cold/damp now to mitigate hot/dry in ~6 months

Reading this story in light of the impending 'bomb' cyclone approaching our region - my (decidedly amateur) meteorological eye thinks they might be in for a rough couple of days, but hope I'm wrong

A hard truth to accept... I'm just hoping we don't have a repeat of last winter again this year. It's abundantly clear that we're going to need all the precip we can get going into our summers from here on out. I really don't want the first 2 lines of the Ode to feel like a threat...

It kinda feels like the notion of 'Fogust' or 'Juneuary' may be relegated to the same place talks of only getting 'tail-ends' of hurricanes went; something of the before times that clearly does not apply anymore.

I still haven't wrapped my head around the fact that the Avalon is experiencing *drought conditions*. My internal climate model has been pushed well beyond its limits this summer... I would welcome the damp and grey with open arms at this point.

Can't tell you how many total minutes; but long enough to reflect on how well the composition itself seems to match the feelings of hope or dread from the impeding 'news' to follow
