Almost exactly 18 years ago, Sam Presti and I had a conversation about analyzing the draft to get the most value out of it. He ended up leaving before we could really work together, but that started me down my path in basketball analytics. Tonight his relentless efforts paid off for his team.

The Thunder's Jalen Willians posted a rating of minus-40 points last night, the lowest such figure in an NBA Finals game in the play-by-play era.
The previous mark of minus-38 points was set by Jrue Holiday in Game 4 of the 2024 Finals.

Separately from the NBA, tonight's Jeopardy! was an instant classic. Tied going into FJ, a triple stumper on misspellings, and an over animated winner who likely will be polarizing to fans (although I enjoyed watching her, for the record).

Start-to-finish LAL/MIN has been the most entertaining playoff game this year so far. I can't imagine anything in the final 1:30 that would change that.
