It has. It’s always looked daft. We spoke about all of the things that made it daft (stronger, safer, better off) during the campaign and were badged as ‘project fear’ by people who’ve since been proven to be liars and charlatans. Most of this was predictable, and predicted. Weaker, riskier, poorer.

I haven’t seen evidence of alcohol firms funding disingenuous research to say their product is healthy etc (in fact, I’ve seen the opposite in organisations like Portman). I’m very happy to be corrected though - alcohol isn’t one I’ve looked at in detail.

I’m not convinced it’s the same thing. We don’t do tobacco because the big tobacco firms spent years and millions of dollars downplaying the risk whilst people died. We also don’t believe the firms who claim they want ‘a smoke free future’ whilst peddling cigarettes to the developing world.
