Was gonna say, the first thing it reminded me of was the cover of one of the collections.

On Trans Visibility Day, we remember those who’ve lost their lives to abuse, suicide and violent injustice brought about due to transphobia. Let’s also give the one who are still here their flowers while they’re here to appreciate them.

My greatest privilege of last year was not only been marrying this amazing person but watching her go through the process of becoming the woman she’d always been, and though exhausting, she’s still sticking with it a year later.

This as righteously angry as I can get without straight up becoming a suicide bomber (and I still left out the s in "members." Fuck me). Still, as someone with a trans wife who's currently trying to immigrate to the US, I want to do what I can to make this this to be a safe place for her.
Member of the LGBTQ+ community haven't spent the last 55 years putting their lives on the line for their own liberties and livelihood just so some of them could be written out of the history they wrote. Transgender people have always existed, they always will exist, and if this monument truly is meant to honor all those who fought for the visibility of lesbians, gays and bisexuals, among others, their title should be included on this website and in this monument. Otherwise, there's nothing to honor.
