I had an imaginary cat for years as a “get out of socializing” card. Then I got a real cat and had to give him the name/backstory of the imaginary cat.

I figured since we were dreaming, I might as well as really go for it 🙃

There was a kid whose mom made a big deal about him being allergic to chocolate and he could only have oatmeal raisin cookies at a bday party once. She walked away and he immediately ate a chocolate chip cookie. I looked at him in shy confusion. He shrugged, “I like them.” We were 8. First love.

I don’t love that the transition usually happens when they’re curled up on my shoulders very close to my neck.
