The cranberry sauce is done! It’s decorated with some thyme I grow. My other contributions to #Thanksgiving at my sister’s are a batch cocktail for 10 and a Costco pumpkin pie I picked up yesterday. I’m also bringing little turkey-shaped butter sculptures from Winco. #pnw

A reminder: Time to start defrosting the turkey! #thanksgiving

I took the mister out for a belated birthday dinner to a West Seattle Thai restaurant we like, Bang Bar. He got a hibiscus mai tai and a whole fish, head and all. I told him the eyeballs are considered a delicacy, but he wasn’t interested. 😀

Winco’s selling these butter turkeys for $3.99, best price I’ve seen around here. #pnw

Driving home in the dark tonight, I saw LOTS of houses with Christmas lights up. Thanksgiving is still a week away!

My walking buddy Laura is not only a staunch resister but also quite an artist. Here’s her latest poster. She’s out every Saturday protesting on a Puyallup-area overpass. #pnw #Resist

Cause all sorts of family drama at the lowest price ever! 😀

I don’t know know about you, but “Extreme fear” doesn’t sound good to me. 😳

The weather’s crappy today, so I’m walking at the mall. I notice that the current women’s shirt style seems to be short in front, long in back. Are we just supposed to give up trying to hide our tummies? To hell with that!

Love it! We were there last month. Here’s a favorite shot.

Thank you!

Two of the hobbit holes are completely furnished and open for the tour. The rest are just exteriors. Here are some interior shots I took.

The walk around Waughop Lake at Fort Steilacoom Park was busier than usual for a Tuesday afternoon. I’m sure it was because people have off for Veterans Day plus it was a pretty day to be outside. #pnw #lakewood #wawx

Interesting cloud action in the South Sound this afternoon. My late dad, a USAF meteorologist, would have been able to tell me exactly what kind they are. #pnw #wawx

For #MagentaMonday, here’s one of my favorite trees in the neighborhood: a glorious red maple. It still looks great even though it’s already shed a lot of leaves. The beleaguered homeowner is at bottom right, doing his best to stay on top of the onslaught. #pnw #lakewood

A year ago today the mister and I were visiting Hobbiton near Matamata, NZ (Aotearoa), part of an 18-day trip of a lifetime. It was a trip made possible only by an inheritance from my mom. We toasted her many times on that trip! ❤️

Happy #SundayYellow 💛! We’re looking forward to a warm (60ish), sunny day in the #pnw. How are things in your neck of the woods? #wawx #lakewood

I parked behind a Tesla when we went out to lunch today in Tacoma. I got a kick out of its stickers. #pnw

My sis and nieces took me out for a day-before-my-birthday lunch at Indo Asian Street Eatery in Tacoma’s Stadium District. I had the Khao Sol Chicken noodles, and the very sweet staff brought us some mochi ice cream. I think this might be my new favorite place! #pnw

For #FlowersOnFriday, the Thanksgiving cactus my late stepmom gave me years ago is blooming. It’s like clockwork, blooming in early November every year, even though I neglect it terribly. It always reminds me of her.

What a beautiful day to get out in the sunshine at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood! It just reached the forecast high of 55° and lots of folks are out walking or taking their dogs to the huge off-leash area. Rain moving in tomorrow. #pnw #wawx

Aren’t my great-nephews cute in their Halloween costumes? The oldest has read all the Harry Potter books, and he’s only 9! They’re all very sweet and smart boys. #pnw #halloween

For #FallFoliageFriday, I shot this yesterday at the Point Defiance Japanese Garden. #tacoma #pnw
