TuneIn in the UK has limited overseas station access for years. I gave up using it, since it denied me access to radio from the USA, AUS etc.
So it might not just be a BBC decision.

A tradesman sent by our letting agent had fitted a new cooker hood. I took it off and reinstalled it.
Cable was routed thro' the vent hole, the hose wasn't connected, the filter was missing.
He's "a professional" apparently. So are the girls in Patpong. Unlike them, he won't be getting paid by me 🤣
