I am sure the same is true in Texas with specific Tejan culture, Florida with Cubano culture, and then there is the Black culture of the widespread African diaspora of the southern states!! There are subcultures of each state filled with diverse communities and they are actively being suppressed

I see your point but! What is really interesting is the underlying pockets of cultures that continue to thrive- the example I'm closest to is the Southwest (I live in Nevada) and it was part of Mexico until the mid 1800s-there are still pockets of Latino cultures here in every major or midsize city!
