While I’ve never been super vocal about it in the comments, I want you to know that I always get a jolt of excitement every time a new page shows up in my inbox. It’s been an incredible story to keep up with and it would be such a shame if the vocal minority caused it to end prematurely

Ye! I actually was originally going to post an SCP-esque lore document describing the downpour alongside the story, but it wasn’t really turning out how I wanted, so it got kicked to the backburner for now

The insidious thing about the downpour is that it’s hard to know until it’s far too late whether you’ve broken free or you’re still drowning, so I wanted to leave the ending up to interpretation ^^

Honestly, the whole “vicariously dying through a fictional character” thing is a huge part of it for me as well. Though on top of that peacefulness at the very end, I’ll also add to it that I really enjoy the “You don’t really appreciate your life until you’re about to lose it” aspect of it as well
