A bit of a long shot, but you may have two competing text box assets in your UI folder hierarchy, and both are getting called via code.
That, or I would check any areas where you've adjusted the text box's size in code and see if there was a copy paste error w/ two different sizes.

Even the big corp games types of career paths are way less stable than they used to be, so I honestly can't recommend them even for people who value stability in dev above all else.

If you're good at networking +mostly run in independent circles, you can manage w/out-but make sure you have a good portfolio.
If you want a more clock in 9 to 5 and climb the ladder type career in game dev, I'd say that it's necessary.
