Turns out that his flight is easily explained by cartoon physics. Startled by tunneling dog, Thonk, Boing, bounces off tree, bounces off tent line, Voosh, 100s of feet in the air.

.. and doesn't come back down until page 50. What happened to him?

Thanks! That's a great adaptation of Chatterley, combines the original narrative with a truly amazing illustrative style (love the junked Dalek on pg31!)

And the Casanova's really entertaining too - but pages 35,44,45 are missing. Apparently he's somehow launched in the air at the end of pg 45...
