It wasn't as clear to me in grad school how much Barbara Geddes shaped me. She always gave these small nuggets of advice (almost under her breath-with no requirements that you listen). This @gldinstitute.bsky.social podcast interview with her has a lot of those & more: soundcloud.com/gldresearch/...
Barbara Geddes on Marrying Theory and Evidence in the Study of Political Regimes
This episode features an interview with Barbara Geddes, conducted by Department of Political Science at Yale University graduate students Jonathan Elkobi and Saumyaa Gupta via zoom on April 17, 2025.

An under-reported element of Colombia's "total peace" plan is called "Jovenes en Paz", which will pay 100,000 at-risk youths ~$250 a month to study/volunteer and stay out of gangs. Seems like a big test for the potential of cash transfers. Hopefully the data will be available at some point (via AP).
Colombia's president has a plan for 'total peace.' But militias aren't putting down their guns yet
When elected, Colombia’s rebel-turned-president Gustavo Petro promised to cement “total peace” and end one of the world’s longest-running conflicts.
