I’m the wife. I’m perfectly capable of forming my own opinions, and my relationship with my partner isn’t so unhealthy that we argue about media franchises. I also don’t care much about how “dominant” a franchise is, and think it’s a silly metric to base personal enjoyment off of.

I don’t think I’ll ever be fully satisfied with my art, but I know by now that I’ll always keep trying to reach that point.
Even if it’s slow, and I can’t afford classes or formal teaching, I just have to make each piece feel better than the last one and I know I’m on the right track.
