I give a movie a bonus star just for having John Leguizamo in it. I am convinced he's the most underrated actor of a generation.

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar.

Huuuuuge Bowie fan. Huge. I was in music school when he died and the whole place was in mourning. Anyways.

Life on Mars.

The Wind Cries Mary. Also, runner up is Dolly Dagger.

Hell yeah, congrats Paul

Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones. I've been on a horror kick lately. Before that was Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay and Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix.

Feel better Scott. I'll be at your panels and reading, but I won't bug you so you can rest as much as you can convention.

Buc-ee's is an eldritch nightmare of the deepest order. The debauchery of its hubris runs deep. The scents of caramel and seared animal flesh along with the wailing of pop country music is a monument to the American consumerist hellscape.

I'm a fan of the kolaches and their beef jerky.

Welcome. I hope it gets easier for you.

I can't help with the dismorphia part, I'm sorry you deal with that. However, for the other part, if you can find an old safety razor, they'll get just as close without the razor burn. Pass with, across, and against the grain. Use nivia sensitive skin balm afterwards. Should help. :)

Is this due to multiple passes with a multi-blade razor or obsessive shaving due to dismorphia?

I'm convinced that Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist is the best vampire novel of the 21st century and maybe the 20th as well.

I'm so stoked about this one. You gave me a rundown of the plot a little while ago and I promptly let all of my horror nerd friends know. The concept behind this is rad.

I'm working through this right now. I think it's the best thing Grady's written so far. And that's saying something.

Jeff, do you have any authors that play with language that you particularly admire? The first that come to mind is Gene Wolf (especially with Book of the New Sun) and McCarthy and his blatant disregard of punctuation to get a specific flow. This aspect of writing is really fascinating to me.

My jealousy level is around a nine and a half.

The Frazetta test is a valid one.

I'm so stoked for this book. I haven't read a vampire novel that's really lit me up since Let the Right One In. This is at the top of my To Read list once I can get my hands on it.

Hell yeah. Looking forward to seeing you!

I'm so looking forward to this book. Any chance you'll be touring for it? I'm buying two tipped in copies either way - one for reading and one for posterity.

Happy Thanksgiving, Mike. Super weird, I'm back home in the Carolinas and even my conservative family members managed to avoid the MAGA plague. So I'm thankful this year for sane family.

Caveat this that they are my favorite books ever written. I feel like Lord of the Rings kind of needs to be read differently from a lot of books. Tolkien's big focus was language. I find that those books should be slowly immersed and lived in. They're cottagecore, brotherhood, and friendship.

Remember that the people in the new place are good people too. They'll just need some guidance. And you'll always have support back home Doctor J.

It's ok, she'll make some quasar happy some day once she does some self reflection and let's off enough radiation.

Hey look, a picture of my ex's heart. Didn't know she moved so far away though.
