lets push them through the gel with electricity! ⚡️➡️🧬
The DNA molecules will essentially race from one side of the gell to the other, but some kinds of molecules wont get as far as others - creating these "bands" 💈that will show up under U.V light in the dark.

And thats want the polaroid is of! 🔚🪡

Electrophoresis is another test you may have done in highschool. Its so widely used that its a good thing to know about!
The idea of it is: different parts of DNA should respond to electric charge differently. Lets line up all our DNA at one end of our mini pool of gel (usually agar gel) and...

Now that you have performed a PCR on your DNA sample you have plenty for your various science experiments. And ONE very common science experiment is the classic "electrophoresis" 😌🤌

Look at the polaroid picture above - seem familiar? If not that's okay!

The "chain reaction" part refers to how a PCR procedure's whole purpose is to create MORE DNA. 🧬🧬 Because what if you don't have enough DNA from your really cool sample that you can study? 🥺 That sucks! Unless... 🤔. Wait. Can we just make more?

Now we have enough DNA for our studies! 😃

For anyone wondering, PCR is one of those "classic" sort of lab experiments.🤌 You may even remember doing one for highschool biology! It stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction but what does it DO? 🧵
