sinners was absolute cinema 🤌 i almost wished it was a screening where you could stand up and make noise cause some of those scenes just compels you to move your body.

having recently seen wild robot which i thought had very beautiful-looking nature scenes, it strikes me that princess mononoke’s nature scenes are beautiful not because it’s drawn purposefully to be, but because it’s drawn realistically and nature itself is beautiful.

I’ve since rewatched it on VHS many times since then but seeing it in theaters again was amazing. It was as breathtaking as I remembered it in my memories.

More than 2 decades later and this film is still perfect and breathtaking. I’m not sure when, but I recall seeing it in theaters long ago, leaving an impact and feeling like I saw something awe-inspiring.

finally saw The Monkey. campy and absurd, but as a final destination enjoyer, it was a blast. despite the 180 in tone from longlegs, you can still absolutely tell it’s by the same director in its visual style.
sidenote: we have a monkey popcorn bucket now…..
