Travel bans will dramatically increase the difficulty for russia for everything from espionage to sanctions busting to influence ops. It won’t by itself end those but it will cost them time, effort and money. That’s a good start.
They already attack us with every hybrid warfare technique there is.

As for not realistic, this is because of the succesfull russian propaganda of invincible russia.

In reality, russian army is a joke compared to its size and fame. It has only reached a stalemate against the former military dwarf Ukraine.

Add 5 West European armies to UAF, and russia will crumble.

Please define exit strategy in our context.

It is clear from what I said that as soon as russia is forced into an acceptable (for Ukraine!) peace, hostilities will cease.

Isn't that enough strategy, call it exit, victory or whatever?

True. This is why I said Germany, France, UK, Finland and Sweden, and not NATO.

Why do you think that it was possible three years ago, but not now? What has changed, except that russia has become weaker?
June 2, 2025 at 5:35 PM
The realistic scenario is to hinder russia to advance one more centimeter (minimum aim) or to kick it out of Ukraine (medium aim) or to force it into unconditioned surrender (maximum aim).

There is no need for an exit strategy.

So ist es.

Wars are not declared anymore for decades, almost for a century. What I advocate is sending troops to Ukraine to help the Ukrainians defend their land. Then if russia does things, we also do things.
June 2, 2025 at 10:15 AM
Yeah, it's called 'fear of russia'. That's ridiculous. Anyway, Ukraine is in war with russia for three years now. Let's go to war with russia. Where is the problem?
June 2, 2025 at 9:52 AM
But this is not a good one.
June 2, 2025 at 9:45 AM
I don't want to be provocative, but this question is very stupid.
June 2, 2025 at 9:27 AM
Yeah, but the question was if there are good reasons for such a behaviour, and I think there are none. It's just mimimi.
June 2, 2025 at 9:11 AM
No, there is no good reason. I think the Ukrainian constitution requires some conditions for the deployment of foreign troops on Ukrainian soil, but this should be solvable.

And as for bad reasons against, there is only one. Unfounded fear.
