Sketch of Barnbougle Castle. The current building dates from 1881, the original building was constructed in the 13th century by the Mowbury’s a Norman family (what did the Normans ever do for us?). Watercolour version will get done once other projects are done first, write a story and illustrate it.

Today I’ll mostly be listening to… Wil Malone’s self titled album which originally was released in 1970, this is 2025. Wil went on to become an arranger for everyone from the Who to Black Sabbath to the Verve and conducted on Adele’s first single.

Today I’ll mostly be listening to… Frank Zappa’s second solo album Hot Rats, released in 69 but this is the 2016 reissue mastered by Bernie Grundman. Frank’s best album? Could be, but there are so many versions of Frank can anyone say what is “best”. "A movie for your ears".

Yesterday for the second time I had a 5k cycle on my partner’s electric Brompton. Woke up early due to discomfort in my heart area. I felt fine when I was cycling plus most of it was downhill. So was completely unaware of exceeding 155bpm which should be my max. No bike for now 🙁 Off to talk to Doc…
