It's OG Xbox only, but basically they have their own DNS servers that redirects your Xbox to their servers instead of the defunct XBL servers.

Yeah this is my childhood Xbox, did the softmod last year just because I could really and I don't wanna accidentally destroy the board doing that, cool that it's doable though.

That's really cool, I have a softmodded Xbox but I believe it's a 1.6 so don't think I'd be able to add extra RAM easily anyway

Out of interest what effect does the extra RAM have ? Do you notice it in standard games or is it more for emulsion and homebrew?

I was talking to my partner last night about how the like quake era of gaming was a lot more like the wild west where people just tried stuff and hoped it would sell because it's fun and how indie gaming nowadays seems to be following that pattern which is great.
