I heard an argument recently that unless someone or some thing/entity *feels* some kind of moral disgust/empathy/revulsion or other emotion, then even if that entity, person did some act that is in general considered morally commendable or obligatory isn't being moral. I'm not so sure I agree.

bear in mind that in Orthodox Judaism there is a double pronged tradition of the "Torah" - as not just written Torah but the *spoken* Torah. - and Rabbis use both as part of the tradition that forms their thinking etc..
