Replace "bad behavior" with "unwanted behavior". Instead of focusing on WHAT the dog is doing, think about WHY the dog is doing it. Skills training and operant conditioning can't replace meeting basic needs like hunger, feelings of safety, etc, but it can teach appropriate ways to communicate them.
