No doubt but it is another controversy that will keep the next news cycle on Republican corruption and expiring ACA tax credits. Every day Ds can keep the Rs looking corrupt in the news till Jan 30, the next CR fight, is a good day. Ds need to keep the cycle focused on themselves to stay relevant.

Raskin: If this were to pass, this astounding provision would give eight Republican senators a personal payday of at least a million dollars each, paid for by the U.S. Taxpayers at a time when we are throwing millions of people off of their health care…

🔥 @RepJoeNeguse: “Most of 🇺🇸 will find this REPUGNANT. These senators are guaranteeing themselves million-dollar paydays.”

Bipartisan horror at @SenatorHagerty & @MarshaBlackburn’s greedy money grab snuck inside the funding bill— rewarding themselves for getting investigated.

I don’t disagree either points. But I think the Ds are playing the news cycle and not the election cycle which is an eternity from now.

Schumer is a terrible party leader but he was not elected to be party leader instead leader of the Senate as a technocrat.

I also suspect Ds did not want the politics to go till Veterans Day. The optics of the military not being paid on that specific day is terrible.

As you pointed out the GOP now owns all the premium increases. Many people don’t know they are on medicaid because it is rebranded in each State.

No groups of them will rent apartments in the area together. But they have their official residence in their district.

Johnson got rid of that possibility because the Rs did not want expecting and new mothers to vote.

They shouldn’t be voting for Republicans at the State or Federal levels. Republicans don’t fund infrastructure projects.

This was a sell out of the Democratic base but there could be a silver lining. The standoff was maintained till ACA enrollment period started and the country is now well aware they have the Republicans to blame for skyrocketing premiums. This ‘failed’ standoff painted a clear picture.
