These cornhole boards were made by my husband and painted by me. And then it took me ages to figure out how to lacquer them and actually do it, but today the legs were fitted back on so now they’re Done! And we will have the best most colorful games of cornhole in existence.

The Moon, Jupiter and Venus all in a line this morning. I overexposed the crap out of the moon (grabbed this shot mid-workout so didn’t have a ton of time to play) but the terminator looks cool today. Look at all those craters!

Jupiter and Venus (brighter one) were looking fantastic this morning. They were so close together - less than a Moon diameter, they both fit in the view of my #Hestia. You can see the moons of Jupiter as that diagonal line of dots running through it. #planets #astrophotography

Found this #sundial outside a church in town at the weekend, and was delighted to see it had been set up correctly and was showing the right time. So many garden sundials are not so lucky.

Happy Sturgeon Moon! Remember to reset your lunar clocks today. Here’s a couple of photos; the Full Moon just before it set this morning, and if you look to the east you can see Venus and Jupiter close together and bright.

Printed a safe haven hook for my glasses, since the cat decided he wants to sleep on my nightstand and push everything off to make room… #3dprinting

It always somehow surprises me when our Crape Myrtle blooms. (And it always annoys me that’s it’s apparently not spelled “crèpe”)

Look, I made a hinge! And it’s all hingey! Turns and everything!

Clucking bell, my feed is all politics and there needs to be some lightness in the world too. Have some flowers.

These two cats are dropping the most unsubtle hints that it might, in fact, be dinnertime.

Happy Winter Solstice to all our Northern hemisphere people! And happy Summer Solstice to our Southern friends :-)

A few months ago, I was approached by the good people at @nelsonatkins art museum in Kansas City MO, asking if I could provide astrolabes for a forthcoming exhibition. I was delighted to work with them. The exhibition opened this week, and they just sent me these photos of the installation :-)

Raccoon party at the second bird feeder! It’s not obvious from this angle, but the feeder is about a foot and a half away from the pole. Wily buggers got the seed anyway…

This little booger turned 15 today. His favorite thing is to drink water from all kinds of sources. I guess he got a nice birthday present :-)

This is why our bird food is going down at an alarming rate. Thieves in the night!

How come this boy can sleep soundly on my lap during breakfast, but had to spend the entire night on my bed, stomping on my head and poking my face? I’m gonna be a freaking zombie today.
November 26, 2024 at 1:40 PM
This little asshole decided to wake me up at 1am and poke me in the face with his claws for the next two hours. This was not conducive to a good night’s sleep.

My friend gave me a bunch of bulbs. The two circled pots now contain secret treasures; biding their time until Spring. (I know nothing about gardening so I hope this works)

And this is why I am not getting much done this morning.
