On a less contentious note when a Tesla exploded outside trump tower January 1, 2025, at approximately 8:39 a.m. (PST) it was 4 hours before the BBC reported that it happened.

That is they waited until there was a press conference before reporting what was clearly apparent from video.

One issue I think is that the BBC policy seems to be it only really reports if an official source makes a statement or corroborates information. It therefore could not report on unverified social media footage proportion to come from Iran.

BBC Persia was reporting however that is not the same as the main broadcast BBC or world news page reporting on the protests. Ultimately the accusation is not "they did not report at all" but rather that there was an editorial decision not to feature it in any of the main news feed.
