50 years ago, Congress passed IDEA, securing the right of students with disabilities to receive a public education, along with services that support their learning and development. With recent staffing cuts weakening key enforcement offices at the DOE, those protections are at risk.

Despite increased use of AI by teachers, many still acknowledge the risks of AI on student’s critical thinking, research skills, & data breaches. That’s why it’s important for schools to evaluate their goals for education & how best to achieve them, rather than quickly adopting AI tech in classrooms
November 6, 2025 at 11:49 PM
In a recent report from the Center for Democracy & Technology, 86% of students reported using AI in the 2024-25 school year — 73% for personal use, 50% for school use. AI literacy is necessary for preparing students to think critically, question deeply, and use technology consciously.

Since 2021, @penamerica.bsky.social has documented nearly 23,000 book bans across 45 states & 451 public school districts: pen.org/press-releas....

When books are banned, stories are erased, history is rewritten, censorship becomes normalized, and democracy is weakened.

Public money should fund public schools. Period. Vouchers drain classrooms of resources, while taxpayers end up subsidizing private schools for the wealthy. That’s not “choice,” that’s inequity.

🚨 Vouchers aren’t about “school choice.” They undermine public education, strip resources from classrooms, and force taxpayers to subsidize private schools for the wealthy while our public schools struggle and students are left behind. Go to truthinedfunding.org/newsletter & learn more.
