I miss Dr. Oliver Sacks. I miss his gentle voice, curiosity-fed intelligence, and humble-meets-erudite speaking style. Though I’m grateful for access to his many books, video interviews, and essays like this one, I really wish he was still here, sharing his theories, profound wisdom, and lore.
In a world awhirl with cruelty and dystopian distractions, maintaining daily art practice is a grind. Continuously cycling through feelings of outrage, betrayal, fear, numbness, and bone-deep sorrow is exhausting… but I’ll keep trying; emphatically, erratically, empathically grinding.
