The enforcement of executive orders, especially in States without the same protections we have in Jersey, will cost lives.... kids bullied and outed, lifesaving healthcare stopped, homelessness, HIV rates increased.

Even in Jersey, cuts will happen.

I never learned gay men were forced to stay. We MUST teach this history or else it's one we might relive. An attack on any of us, is an attack on all. We all have a responsibility in this moment to speak out against evil. Solidarity is our strength.

Let us ALL remember that at the end of the war when the concentration camps were finally liberated, virtually all the prisoners were released EXCEPT those who wore a pink triangle. Many of those with a pink triangle were forced to stay, and their nightmare continued.

Garden State Equality stands ready for this moment. I’m filled with hope as leaders like Cathy Marino-Thomas of Marriage Equality USA attended—a reminder that the greatest organizers and activists of our movement are ready to fight.

We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we do know this: love always trumps hate. In moments of darkness, queer joy becomes a guiding light.

Trump and his enablers are responsible for this moment, this response. Unity can’t exist in hypocrisy, and history will remember who stood firm.
