For example, does it sound muffled? Or does it sound too tinny? Do you need a wind screen to reduce plosives? Are your “t” and “s” sounds too much or barely heard? There could be any number of factors that impact these areas. Mic distance is a big one.

It’s more common to have eq before compressor, but in reality there is no “correct” signal path. The signal path can be however you want it for whatever you are trying to achieve.

I guess a better question is what is it about the sound you are getting, or not getting, the you would like changed?

Those mics might be common to a lot of streamers, but if you don’t like how it’s sounding, eq can only go so far. If you can’t get what you like with eq, you might want to consider a different mic.

That said, what are you using for audio processing? What’s the chain for eq/compressor/gate etc.?
