Day 33, one more dirty latte at Bear Pond Espresso and one (two) last airport meals which is a reminder that they don’t need to mark everything up 500% just because they have you trapped in an airport. These two cost a combined $40 depending on today’s exchange rate. Anyways, 🇺🇸 here I come!

Day 32, Miyazaki clock at Nippon TV HQ, spiciest ramen lunch, Heaven Injection (again) at Clue Que, and late night Gyoza. Here’s the spiciest ramen and the cute demon mint you only get when you order the oni/oni (hottest option).
October 13, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Day 31, exquisite obanzei style lunch, more jazz at Pit Inn, Unagi, okonomiyaki, and a drone duo in a basement DIY club. Here’s the shrimp, squid, and scallop Okonomiyaki!

Day 30, only a few days left and dialing it back to a few of my favorites from the trip. Spicy noods, sushi, chocolate factory, Tokyo Tower, a tinned fish excursion, and some more ramen. Here’s Tokyo at sunset (hindered by clouds once again) from the Tokyo Tower.

Day 29, breakfast egg sandwiches, Teamlabs Bordless exhibit, Hie-Inja shrine, more ramen, Kassa Overall @ Blue Note Tokyo, and a perfect gyoza nightcap at an empty izakaya.

Day 28, too the Romance Car back to Tokyo (the onsale for this train was harder than YEMSG) and it paid off with a cloud free view of Mt. Fuji, Yoyogi Park, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and more jazz at the Pit Inn. Anyways, here’s Mt. Fuji and the panoramic train!

Day 27, full day of exploring Hakone in what might’ve been the best weather of my trip. Visiting the hot springs, ate a famous black egg for an extra 7 years of life (may regret), rode a ship around a lake, and took in the Hakone Open Air Museum. Two pics again, we’d getting close to the end.

Day 25, Deer of Nara, Shrine of 1,000 Torii Gates, a wild three bill rock concert at Taku Taku. Here is one cute deer 🦌 they’re all cute but only love you for the snacks. (accidentally deleted OP, sorry for the repeat!)

Day 22, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest & Monkey Park, temples, delicious lunch in the mountains at a quaint spot run by two older women who grow the vegetables they use, a 3 rocking band bill at UrbanGuild (amazing venue), and late night izakaya/yakitori. I know y’all want the monkeys so here ya go!

Day 21, Visited the Atomic Bomb Dome & Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima. Images of post-bomb Hiroshima are eerily similar to the images of Gaza. Never Another Hiroshima and Never Again are both slogans that we continue to ignore by being complicit in Israel's ongoing genocide. Free Palestine!

Day 20, coffee, pastries, Osaka Castle, Okanmayaki, shrines, and one hell of a rock concert and another basement club. Today you get a video because no picture does the intensity of this show justice. Here is tengokuchusha!!!
