Cleaed up the workshop for the first new toys to be made after #eurofurence .
We left quite a chaos.
Making toys until the very last minute to keep @YiffyToys restocked.

Due to only only having VERY limited stock and EF being in a few days,
the ROVER SR. is launched without the usual offer for our mailing-list subscribers and Fediverse-Followers to buy the toy before everyone else.
Sorry about that […]

Finally some rain to cool down the air.
Time to make one of those chunky Rover Sr for #eurofurence .

Wouldn't date to risk that much silicone when it's >30°C and everything cures way too fast.
August 20, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Looks like the heat will only intensify these next days.
That's not good news for casting complex toys that need chemical reactions happening in predictable times.

Busy Busy Busy making toys for the #eurofurence Dealers Den.

It's nearly midnight and still 28.4°C .
Very far from ideal working conditons.

"I love it when a plan comes apart".
Replaced the canisters.
Started making toys.

Then one of the pumps broke down.
Sounded like it was free spinning without any resistance.

Replaced it with a spare pump we have for just this thing.

Usually a motor overheats and dies or a pump vane breaks off […]

Now that new material arrived,
we prepare to make a lot new toys for the @YiffyToys #dealersden table at #eurofurence in a few weeks.

Preparing pre-mixed colours today and getting all the molds for the first run prepared.
August 2, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Materials arrived.
The heat wave is over.
The heavy storms are over too.

Time to make some inventory,

so @YiffyToys can get the "Rover Sr" out without the risk of us not keeping up with demand before #eurofurences #dealersden .

The nation-wide heatwave with up to 40°C in our region has made any kind of #casting that can't be done in a single pour impossible.

We tried to make a #rover Sr and failed.
The time needed to degass more silicone was already longer then the first batch needed to cure.

Today we finally […]

With the current heat wave,
we can only cast toys in the early morning hours.
That limits the number and size of toys we can cast at the moment.

The Rover Sr protoype has been sold.

To get the desired surface finish, we'll have to redo the surface of the master's balls.
This requires applying new masking to the lettering and taping up the shaft to not be accidentally affected.

Cleaning off the excess release agent didn't work well on […]

That last toy was beyond the capability of our highly accurate scale.
We had to use a less accurate one just to find out how much material it uses.

(Of cause we have the theoretical value from the digital model but that doesn't account for some excess use.)

Trying something to keep parts aligned while curing a #3dprint.
Let's see what happens about mating surfaces warping, when I do that.
May 17, 2025 at 3:47 PM
WTF? we've never seen this kind of #3dprinter failure.
Hopefully there's no area of the large display failing and just too little support.

We fixed a critical part of #workshop machinery…

For when we need especially strong #coffee (or simply run out of milk),
we have a gastronomy level self-cleaning Arabian Mokka machine.

Yea, we fixed that one.
The fresh water runs again and the waste water connection leaks only a little bit now.

Made a stupid mistake in the parts we printed.

Having to print 4 giant parts again.

After 14h, 2 are done.
Now printing the 3rd part for 27 hours and then the last one for probably another 217 hours.

How do you cure resin 3D printed that are too large,
yet you don't want to rig something for the job?
April 22, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Oh, #elegoo has anounced a newer version of our #elegoojupiterse during the RAPID+TCT 2025 exhibition.

Called the #elegoojupiter2.
Available in Q3.
Since we just got our used Jupiter SE and it will likely be very expensive at first,
we don't plan to upgrade.

Looks like that new (regular sized) Rover production mold in the #dildoworkshop is working out fine.

Final verdict when the toy has completely dried and can be inspected some more.

Oh,
I really like that paint can storage in the Metropolitan Museum.
I could see something like that for the #dildoworkshop .
Currently we have a custom drawer for these.

Wearing a headlamp for an extended period of time (to look deep into molds in the #dildoworkshop ) gets quite uncomfortable.

I'm not fully happy with this one yet, but it works and I'm using it. I've been sitting on it for a while now and I need to just publish it because I'm not sure when I'm going to get to the V1.5 improvements I want to do.

Here's my take on a simple fume […]

We got ourself a cheap "ultrasonid teeth cleaner" for 30€ and sharpened two of the grinding tips a bit.
Nice #tool .

A bit underpowered but after a few seconds of friction to heat up,
it works just as well as a 400€+
ultrasonic knife for removing #3dprinter resin supports in the #dildoworkshop
