I've noticed people who liked the Witcher game series tend to like KCD, so hopefully you'll have a good time 😊 If not, well, I've bought my fair share of mediocre games for cheap!

I saw the first one pop up in people's recommendations on the CRPG reddit relatively frequently before the sequel released -- which was even more well-received -- so I think if it's cheap, the best thing might be to just go ahead and try it out and see if it's your cup of tea!

I've actually never played them because I'm such a man-hater that a game has to be REALLY good for me to play a game with a male protagonist, and 1st person view makes me terribly sick, but people enjoy the gameplay.

I finished all of the big things in Qinghe, so I've moved on to Kaifeng. I'll go back to do the small stuff, too! Eventually!!

It's just such a shame because the story is actually pretty intriguing, but the god awful English is ruining it.

The devs said they'd work on it, so since there's such a huge English player base, I would think at least future English TLs will be done by people, but I'd hope they hire actual translators for every language. 😐

My biggest complaint about WWM is that the localization is SO bad. They're either using machine TL at best or AI at worst. The constant misgendering, the stiff wording, the complete lack of flow. I've thought about switching to Japanese just to get rid of the pronouns, but that's probably worse.
