The House has passed Trump’s dreadful Kill Bill. Within minutes, the bond market makes clear- again- that it is a very poor decision. Treasury yields again shifting upward. This even higher deficit is criminal and saddles the next generation with terrible choices.

The stock and bond markets both sent clear signals today to the White House and Capitol Hill that they dislike his budget and its deficit implications. The Treasury had serious trouble auctioning 20 year bonds. The GOP budget needs to change significantly to right the ship.

I called Thom Tillis’ office. His staff says he is on board with the bill to return control of tariffs to Congress.
But the bill, even if enacted, leaves the White House in charge of it for another 60 days. 😡

I view it as very unfavorable that the VIX ( volatility index) opened at 30 and is now 45. If Trump wasn’t certain, the market hates this plan and will not capitulate.
