“I mean, look at you,” he croons, reaching out to place his hand on Lycaon’s face. The wolf flinches back in response, but it doesn’t stop him from sliding a finger under a leather strap. “You’ve gone and muzzled yourself. And you’re telling me you have the life you desire? Why else would you have this—” He twists his hand to hook his finger in the strap and tugs, yanking Lycaon’s face down, closer to his own, forcing him into eye contact. “—if you didn’t want to bite?” Lycaon’s breathing is starting to become shallow. His whole body is tight with tension and restraint. If it wouldn’t leave him helpless, he’d bind his arms and legs right now, too. “I will not be controlled by my instincts,” he says, forcibly looking away. “I am no longer so… uncivilized.” “Uncivilized?” Hugo laughs out. “Are you under the impression that regular humans don’t bite each other? They do, all the time. They just don’t have the same teeth.” Lycaon tilts his head away and Hugo follows, nuzzling his snout. “But you know I can handle it,” he whispers into white fur. “Just like you can handle mine.” Hugo’s little fangs are nothing in comparison, but he’s very familiar with the sting of them — in his shoulder, in his throat, his thighs, somehow undeterred by the fur between him and skin. His favourite, though, was always Lycaon’s tongue, which he’s currently holding back from lolling out of his mouth to taste the air. The problem is, as usual, that Hugo is right. Biting is only a taboo for him because of what he is. It’s all fine when it’s humans and their blunt teeth, or thirens like mice or rabbits. The small fangs of those like Hugo or cat thirens are acceptable, and even some dog thirens are tolerated in that regard. But Lycaon is a wolf — if he bites, really bites, he won’t simply bloody someone up. He can crunch through bone. He could tear a person’s arm off. He could rip out their throat with very little effort. He can’t do those little teasing hints of erotic what-ifs that other thirens do with the rounded ends of his large fangs. When he punctures skin, it is only to maim. Hugo’s finger disappears from beneath the muzzle so he can undo it entirely. Lycaon could stop him physically quite easily. He doesn’t try. The leather hits the floor. Hugo moves his hands to the seam of his snout. “Open,” he requests — perhaps orders — with a lilting smile. He hesitates, but does not need to be told a second time. Slowly, almost fearfully, he opens his mouth to bare his teeth. Hugo maintains his hold on him, pushing him wider and wider until he’s satisfied. It’s uncomfortable, especially with the ache of movement after so long without much. He peers inside his gaping maw like one would a fossil — marvelling at the hypothetical ferocity and power while being assured that he’s safe from it. He releases his upper jaw so he can reach inside and run his fingers over his teeth. He feels out the thick, smooth ends of his canines, purposefully catches the tips on a couple sharper incisors. Blood meets his wet, salivating tongue. His nostrils flare. A very soft, high-pitched whine rises unbidden from his throat. “And close,” Hugo commands in a murmur. Slowly, he follows the order, until his fingers are held gently in his jaws. One of his teeth clinks against a ring on his finger (the match to his own), so Hugo pushes in a little deeper to accommodate. Lycaon’s tail swishes from side to side as he holds him, as he is held there by Hugo’s orders, his words, his presence. Just like he always was. “Good boy, Lycaon,” he whispers though his cutting smile. He kisses the end of Lycaon’s snout, and it makes his tail thrash a little more without his permission. “See? You don’t even need a muzzle. You know exactly when it’s time for control… and when it’s time to let loose.” A low snarl builds in Lycaon’s throat, but his mouth doesn’t move, so Hugo just smiles wider at him.

"After tomorrow," he pants into Aventurine's mouth as they hurriedly strip each other, fumbling in their eagerness, "you n' I should go on a little trip somewhere. Celebrate." He laughs. "Sounds like a honeymoon," he jokes. His heart isn't in the tease. He never planned to get caught; he'll have no reason to run. Does that count as a betrayal? To go back to his job? Pretend like this never happened? Boothill's grin is downright nasty. "Real shotgun wedding," he says. "Emphasis on the shotgun." Another bubble of more genuine laughter spills from Aventurine's throat and into a bruising kiss that Boothill gives him. "Sounds like fun," he gets out when he's released. And it does. It does. He'd love nothing more than to shirk every responsibility, liquidate every asset, and go off on some crazy, never-ending holiday with him. He doesn't think he'll be capable of it. This is the culmination of his entire life. He's not even sure the Mother Goddess will keep him alive after he's accomplished this. And if she does... doesn't that mean he isn't finished yet?

His whole body goes tense in response, lips parting on a gasp he can’t take. Boothill’s mouth brushes against him by his thumb, right by his windpipe. “You get three words,” he says.
