I’m a huge sonic guy, but the reason I chosen Mania as my favourite in the series is mainly because of the context for when it released. It came out in a time when sonic was at the lowest point it has ever been.
I almost quit. But Sonic Mania is a reminder on why I love this franchise.

Easily one of the best platformers ever made. I Remember discovering this game on a Wii U kiosk at Target. Had ‘Castle Rock’ as a playable demo, and it blew my mind on how well crafted that level was made.
I also own 4 different copies of this on different platforms over the years.

I couldn’t put this game down for a whole week after Christmas. Went in blind and was fully immersed in the Land of Hyrule from start to finish.
Coming from someone with ADHD, new games usually take a long time to find its footing. But BotW only needed the intro. 🛡️🗡️

2. Portal 2 is one of those few games where I’m confident saying “it’s flawless”
They took the original Portal (which is also really good) and made it even better by expanding upon the gameplay mechanics, level design, and its world/characters.
Not to mention the co-op campaign and modding support.

My favourite game of all time since it was my introduction to video games in general. Aware that it’s not the best competitively, but Brawl just hits different in terms of artstyle, music and its single player content.
