Apis sp. in flight, approaching tiny, delicate, and white oregano flowers that are blooming from light green bud spikes, which are alternating. The flowers almost look lacy with long stamen. Apis sp. hovering over oregano flowers, proboscis extending as it's fuzzy legs kick backward. Philanthus sp. on white and pale pink mint flowers, growing on a spike of soft pink and green buds. The beewolf is seen from the left side and behind. It has a lovely wasp abdomen with bumpy texture. Wings are orange tinted and barely visible, folded upwards. Suspected Megachile sp. on pink Joe Pye weed flowers. Blue and purple iridescent but modest, thin, and wide spaced wings. Dusty with pollen, underside of abdomen flocked in yellow.

Working on this octopus pattern with a mystery yarn (either gifted or thrifted I don't remember which) and it works up really nicely, good texture on the hook and nice colors, so I wish I knew what it was
WIP of a crochet project, the top of an octopus head. Colors are dark blue, lime green, aqua, and dark green. Worked in yu/yo method, so stitches are x-shaped. Background is laptop, with pattern on screen but blurred. Cake of working yarn on right hand side.

i just got started (for real this time) because i was waiting for some mod stuff, but look. my he/they drow crypszis, from a family of glass workers, and just got out of the underdark only to get scooped up for worms. yes he's a spore druid did the algae give it away. surprisingly not a durge

Seeing the milkweed (butterfly weed) blooming helped my heart today, maybe it helps yours too.

Clustered fungus with wavy, disconnected gills giving it an almost toothed appearance. It's growing in an upward curve from a fallen, lichen-covered tree, cream in color. Illuminated from the top with soft sunlight. There is a stick and some pine needle debris in the left foreground. Clusters of toothed fungi, cream and rusty orange in color. They have an appearance like cillia, hairy but thick and rounded. They are growing upon a rotted stump, amongst mosses. Illuminated by direct sunlight. A young cluster of an Armillaria sp., with bright, honey yellow caps and cream, fuzzy stems. They are bursting from the ground, displacing green grass and soil. Some beads of dew or remnants early rain are seen clinging to leaves. Light is from a low angle and soft. An older, rusty orange and brick red fungi, growing from within a soft, rounded moss patch with a texture similar to fur. The gills of the fungi are curled upward as the cap begins to collapse inward. The fungi and moss are surrounded by pine needles, sticks, and other pine forest floor debris. My most recent and lovely sunflower patch photos my most joyous area of my gardening attempts this year
A wide photo of mixed sunflowers. The sunflower on the left most side is the largest with a bright yellow halo of petals. At the center is a happy bumblebee feeding. At 4 o clock to this sunflower is another smaller bloom in the background, with another species of bee feeding. On the right most side is an autumn beauty sunflower, haloed in deep burnt orange petals. These blooms are the focal points of the photo but there are more stalks, leaves, and blooms obscured in the background. The photo is at a low angle so the tree tops and sunny sky are seen in the background as well. A portrait orientation photo of a sunflower patch, close up on one bloom of autumn beauty. The bloom is haloed in burnt orange petals which lighten yellow near the center at tips. At the 5 o clock position from the bloom in center is the molt of a cicada, clinging to a beetle chewed leaf. Parts of other flowers of the same type are seen in an arc around the center bloom, around 7 and 3 o clock. The background features more sunflower stalks and leaves, some areas of garden and trees out of focus.
