{{ that's not saying it HAS to genuinely wound X either, it seems fairly in character for X to pretend to be hurt and run to give the vessel's hope and make the games more interesting.

i do think its a little much. you can't kill X, especially not a vessel, but you can stall it fot awhile if you somehow destroy its body or give it a serious wound.
