academic thoughts are academic (context: a (second) linguist might be working on my paper on detransition and i’m just brainstorming some ideas for how to work on this paper 🥰
From top to bottom: Paper Idea: What constitutes an identity? - Linguistic (semantic) component & metaphysical component - exist separate from each other but also interact -> how? does political significance and the general term of ‘detransition’ as a marked term play a role in this interaction? - new terms up and coming for ‘detransition’ ie ‘retransition’ distinction ‘non-core’ vs ‘core’ detransitioner -> forming almost micro-identities within the larger framework of detransition - -> tie back to question above: what constitutes an identity?
