update on the glitch, dying from the pit of madness in eden and trying again fixes the torch, but not in the labyrinth. respawning in eden you already have the torch, but in the labyrinth you pick it up each time meaning its unfixable. hope this info helps regarding this bug.

I have come to report a glitch I'm facing in the demo, when I pull out the torch it doesn't follow me and instead just stays idle and separate from me. This occurs in both the section where you become tails and when you go into the labyrinth.
