I adore that the Polder's (Gnome's?!) hat (unless this a Toad situation) breaks the token mold.

How did ours put it? "The Void containeth all things, yet itself is contained by none."
They cannot be contained!
Like when the Road Runner runs into Wile E's wall paintings as if they're real.

Glad to know I'm not the only director facing the cartoon saw approach.

I'm a sicko for forcing players into insurmountable odds, only to watch them claw their way out of the grave time after time. This game rules.

Unfortunately for our heroes, the villains villained killing unconscious minions to empower the leader. The Leader woke to find his men slaughtered, instead of the freed captives. Outnumbered and a hero down, the PCs -just barely- convinced the leader to stand down to hear them out.

Last night, my players tried to stop a sacrificial ritual empowering a leader, all while avoiding killing the baddies so they wouldn’t strengthen the ritual. They managed to save three noncombatants scattered across the map—one of which was saved with just one stamina left!

One creature! A combination of a Primordial Cunning's slide on knockback, and To the Uttermost End with a little help from his friends.

The difference was created by the Shadow's Setup ability giving the creature damage weakness 5, resulting in 10 extra damage across Lazarus' turn. Teamwork makes the dream work!

This isn't the death of 5E. It just got a fresh coat of paint after 10 years of playtesting. 5E like the previous editions of D&D before it (sans 4e 🪦) will long live at tables around the world.

It does, however, signal that D&D's reign as THE TTRPG may be at its end.
