On this day in 1987 Galaxie 500 went into 6/8 Studios in New York and recorded seven songs, three of which made up the band's first demo tape ... so, if you think that when a band first gets something on tape is when it is born then today is Galaxie 500's birthday!

#OnThisDay 11 years ago Dean Wareham played at St Pancras Old Church, a show recorded for the live album on @soniccathedral.bsky.social . Hours beforehand I got an email from Dean in Stockport - "our train has been sitting on the tracks for 2 hours", thankfully the train & the band made it to London
