I’m Raz. I sail for fun, lawyer for work, and do many other things by necessity. All opinions are my own, except for the ones I borrowed from my brother years ago and refuse to give back.
This was removed from the docket. DOJ realized their mistake and asked the court clerk to strike. That’s the appropriate mitigation. But yeah. Big fuckup. Lawyer nightmare. A head might roll. Or not. I mean, it’s not like this lawyer candidly admitted an erroneous deportation or something like that.

Westlaw’s quickcheck is a solid tool. But it turns out you still need to read the cases because it can aim a little wide of the mark and suggest some cases am that are…marginally relevant. Non closed-universe AI though? Fuck no.

As a prosecutor myself, I am embarrassed for him. If there’s a crime, charge it. If maybe, investigate. But don’t overplay your hand with this limp dick effort to chill free speech.

In a surreal turn of events, I realized that one of the defendants (who made the initial PR request the plaintiff officers sued to enjoin) was a colleague from Peace Corps.
