#i don’t understand what i’m reading but i’m so excited Only now realized most people don't know what a labeler (and AtProto) is and we did not explain properly! AtProto is the underlying technology BlueSky is built upon! It's a series of tools, "here is how you must build your stuff so it's compatible with us", and general concepts that allows other social sites and tools to emerge and work together with BlueSky and its network. Among the concepts AtProto specifies, there's "labels", applicable to either posts or accounts. They are, well, labels! See for example the account of one of our collaborators, labeled with their pronouns and their favorite languages 👇 A bsky account labeled with programming languages and pronouns ALT These enable a bunch of cool things, including being part of something called "composable moderation", but let's not get too ahead of ourselves! What we'll be doing (in about 2 hours!), is specifically just making a labeler and using it to explore the underlying technology.

As you can imagine, A LOT of work from A LOT of incredibly talented people went into making this day possible.

Our mission was not easy: creating an approachable and engaging learning experience for beginners with a technology as complex as Git? "Impossible!", many would say.
Git invoking a diary, like a magical girl. Text reads: Caneln Git's Powr With everyone gathered in CSS’s showroom/studio combination, it’s time to start creating (and snapshotting) our outfits! Unfortunately, while Git’s memory powers are boundless, they have one itty-bitty weakness: they only work within a repository. Luckily, Git can invoke his secret tracking diary at a moment’s notice and turn any directory into a repository. Aria is in the spotlight, with CSS and boba-tan gushing over him. Text reads: A Truly Perfect Maid The maid costume fits perfectly! And yet, CSS can’t help but feel the outfit is still missing a little je ne sais quoi. As he’s racking his brain on how to achieve his perfect vision, ARIA has an idea: maids are cool, yes, but you know what’s even cooler? Cat maids. Improved plan in hands, CSS asks Git to upgrade the outfit to include a new centerpiece: cat ears.
