Aspiring bon vivant.I work in rockets but this account is mostly about soccer and pinball curiosity. Huge Sounders FC fan, but I’m based in LA
Listening to the rest of the pod I think I understand it better, definitely for moves out of MLS and it seems like managers and gms all think it’s good so I’ll just accept that I’m wrong.

True, and I feel the same about JP. If he can have a big role for another year or two somewhere else, more power to him.

I think the sounders have def been sentimental (see: ruidiaz, Raul and lodeiro, nico)

I think the thing I’m bummed by is that we’re potentially seeing a lot of talent we developed here without the club benefiting from the transfers (thinking about paulie and obed here)

I’m ready for stef not to be the number 1 but I really wanted him to stay with the team

How does shifting the calendar address that? The window is still at the same time. I’m not trying to be trolly I really just don’t understand this. The summer window will be in the off season in the new calendar instead of mid season, but it’s still at the same time wrt European seasons

I guess it was more of a press

I’m with you on the calendar but you lost me on playoff formats.

Basically the same way I feel about a stadium at Longacres

Social media flattens things so we’re probably talking past each other, but I have no trust the league will implement this in the smartest way, so I’m fine with ppl complaining and I think if the league wants to bring ppl along they need to be more proactive about addressing the down sides.
November 11, 2025 at 4:16 AM
So you’re annoyed that people are ignoring potential solutions that the league hasn’t offered? Idk why the league should get the benefit of the doubt when they’re proposing something with obvious, glaring downsides and they haven’t said how they’re addressing them.
November 11, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Have you seen anywhere that covers the challenges and potential solutions? I’d be interested to read about that but I basically just hear people saying “it’s not if, it’s when” and that’s about it

I had a dish there like 2 or 3 years ago that was fried sweetbreads over tuna tartare and it still haunts my dreams (in a good way)

Jewel of the south is one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to.

(To be clear: I’m not arguing what the rule is, just saying it seems to me like the man advantage should carry into a shootout somehow)

Feels like having an extra field player in the PK rotation is an advantage you should get if your opponent has a red card.

Is Minnesota a good team? I guess I have to tip my hat to their attack the last two games, but they didn’t play with much class and if they can attack like that, how come they only do it when they’re forced to? I think the sounders should have put them away.

I think underachieving is a pretty good frame. Not necessarily “unsuccessful” but not as successful as they show us they could be.

That being said, I think this was the most fun season in a while and I got to see a lot of amazing games live. Yet, crashing out the way we did will leave a bad taste
