depending on what you didn't like about super and what you did like about 2, you might enjoy fusion tho. it's riffing on it in a few ways, though it's still largely an R&D1 gba platformer

in that sense, it's similar to dread, but fusion has way more bosses and the combat itself feels not too unlike an older platform-based shooter. it has probably the best narrative in the series, but the constant unskippable dialogue isn't quite palatable to anybody

fusion is on a structural level, despite what many people lament, pretty similar to super. it's just fusion railroads the same linear track that super provided; it makes up for this with more involved combat. samus is more fragile, and there's a larger focus on bosses than other games in the series
