i think even tho the matrix goes further, minority report is darker specifically because it doesn't paper over the middle with "big war sun gone"; every step is obviously the right thing to do until you arrive in deeply the wrong place

minority report was the first one to give me nightmares since the matrix, and before that, gibson. they each represent a big advance in what you can get man to go along with, which is the greatest sci-fi horror
