If the Trump presidency has taught us anything, it's that some people would rather live with the lifelong suspicion that they are incompetent evil monsters than let it be proved once.

I guess they're going to argue that if the women pressed into sex work are of age, it's not rape. But yeah, it's got to be pretty embarrassing to be them right now. You have to assume at least a sizeable chunk of Republican women are rape survivors.

The far right are pretty good at finding people who've just been quite reasonably called out, and then love-bombing them on social media.

Not sure if this works on people who aren't already well on the way there though.

Honestly, the only part they really need to change is the one where they implied that "James Bond" isn't a pseudonym. Until then, the conventional head canon was that all James Bonds *are* different people.

Yup. Debate is probably the worst way to change someone's mind because of the implicit competitive element. The whole format encourages defensiveness, conceding a point is seen as a loss, and rhetorical tricks are valued over consideration of evidence.

I forgot to mention that Trump was so totally non-supportive of the violence of that mob that he went on to pardon all of them immediately.

If there were ever any doubt that he was responsible in 2021, the whole of 2021-2025 has been spent removing that doubt.

Anyone who votes GOP in the 2020s is someone whose answer to "Are rape and racism bad?" would be "Depends, do I like the guy who did it?"

It's painfully obvious that there is no way to make a factual documentary about Donald Trump that will meet with his or Leavitt's approval, because it would not be 100% positive.

Trump doesn't care about the truth; he wants to force the BBC to lie on his behalf.

A Congressional committee watched the whole hourlong speech multiple times and came to the conclusion that Trump was absolutely responsible for the violent riots on Jan 6th (whose culprits he went on to pardon).

If the edit led people to the same conclusion, I don't see how it could be misleading.
