Retired Boomer (no, not that kind). Christian (no, not that kind). Happily married.
"Barely legal" would be 18 years old. Not 15 year olds. With 15 year olds it's not "barely legal" but "absolutely rape".

While not technically a pedophile by definition, he was a hebephile, another category on the DSM, I think. And a child rapist. Trafficker. Reprobate.

Mt 19:12 - context is Jesus argues against divorce on a whim, disciples say it's better to not marry then, and Jesus responds talking about eunuchs. Compare Acts 8:26ff where God directs Philip to go witness to the Eithiopian eunuch.

Heaven is built for all.

I think you are probably prescient!

If Trump doesn't sign, what happens? Does the bill come back for a roll call vote to see if 66+ Senators want to override the veto or pocket veto, or does "unanimous consent" mean they already have a veto proof vote?

The near unanimous passage in the House says to me there's a "fix" in place to prevent the Epstein files from seeing the light of day. They are relying on the short memories and easily manipulated MAGA mind to just skip over the coming stalling tactics.

Send that man a copy of the 10th Amendment to the Constitution!

Respect to both Lon and Tyler the Antenna Man for their work on this! Not to mention Silicon dust's consistent work as well.

I recall debates about how the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act would hurt American competitiveness around the world because bribes, payoffs and corruption were so unbiquitious around the world. I think that was in the late 70s; it's a wonder that we survived this long.

The Fox News / MAGA messaging on this is that it is proof that evil college professors are communists that brainwash children into being liberals.

These are war crimes that we can prosecute, right?

It's like the people who say a newborn is a "neonate" and not a baby. Who the my eck cares? Didn't drop either one. And don't rape girls, over and over again.

Some things are easy to understand.

In other words, it's pretty much a distinction without a difference to anyone with any sort of moral compass.

"Pedophile" is for people attracted to pre-pubescent children, like 8 year olds. "Hebephile" for pubescent children from 11 to 14, and "ephebophile" for 15 to 16 year olds. But in common usage any sexual interest in a girl or woman under the age of consent is called a "pedophile" today.

Unless they get a veto proof majority, Trump vetos it. Only those GOP who *need* to vote for it to retain office will vote for it, with the knowledge Trump will veto, and he skates yet again. And they can say they voted for it. The women and girls don't matter, only the political calculation.
November 14, 2025 at 12:27 AM
They pass legislation, through both the House and Senate, then to the President. Trump will veto. We will see some GOP votes, but not a veto proof majority. Only those GOP who need the help in their districts will vote for it. It's all theater, at the expense of girls and women who were exploited.

Oops, that's 63% of the vote for the win statewide, not 73%.
November 6, 2025 at 1:09 AM
Democrats are 46% of the voters in CA. Prop 50 got 73% of the vote. Either the GOP stayed home, or independents and the 7% in third parties voted "Yes".

This was a referendum on Trump. And CA said Trump is over. And so did VA and PA and everywhere else. The midterms should be interesting.

This is classic 1960s era imagery from Playboy or Esquire, the "girl" in the martini glass.

My city has solar panels providing shade in most schools, the government center and many business parking lots. Most of CA's electricity is now from renewables, with solar the largest single source.
