It's a tough situation for sure and I don't envy Rich's position at all. I just hope he looks into the possibility of detaching Svelte's development from Vercel in the future. It's the same argument I'd be making if someone like Lockheed Martin was a major sponsor.

All I said was that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing that Svelte's development is partially funded by Vercel. I don't assume he's aligned with Rauch. Quite the opposite in fact. If I thought he was, I'd never try to make an appeal like this. I like Rich, which is exactly why it bothers me.

Ofc he IS a Vercel worker but like... he's a lot more than that, is he not? You describing the face of one of the most popular web frameworks and a well known public figure in the dev space as a "Vercel worker" is in fact dishonest. It's like if I described Donald Trump as a "reality TV star".

I feel like describing Rich Harris as a "Vercel worker" is a bit dishonest, but yes... I was trying to both reply to the original post and express my discontent to Rich simultaneously. You think it'd make a significant difference if I adressed him in second person? I think the message was clear.

It always makes me so sad when I remember that @rich-harris.dev is getting paid by Vercel. I really like the guy and based on his public opinions on social issues, I find it hard to believe he's okay with this, but actions speak louder than words.
