Are only here for the university graduation paper. But many are also still here for genuine curiosity and passion to gain knowledge for knowledge's sake. Final thought - if you recommend even more mandatory reading in the next years -

What I'm trying to convey - please don't fret. There still are "hoping-to-be intellectuals" among your lecture audiences who are interested in critical thought, studies and the past and future of economics. The picture of education in the UK has shifted, meaning a lot of people who are here

So I really appreciate that it was a mandatory reading. This is also why I'm here on your page. I was researching the backgrounds of my lecturers and future modules. I am very disappointed that my year 2 modules are not more demanding in terms of readings. Ofc - I can find books on my own

Although my sample size is very small (4 people including me - I don't talk to many other economics students) all of us enjoyed "Why Nations Fail" thoroughly, and I believe it is a book I will be recommending to all readers in my circle, not just economics students.

Hello! I was a student of yours in ECON1019 back in December, and while I understand that the changing trends among students look bleak, I promise you that this is not the reality for the whole cohort.
